DENSO announced that it has successfully developed an electronically controlled high pressure common rail system that can simultaneously achieve energy conservation and exhaust gas purification. Compared with the conventional 200 MPa common rail system, the system can achieve the world's highest injection pressure of 250 MPa and the maximum fuel consumption of 3% through improved component construction and increased fuel injection pressure.
At the same time, the system can also reduce the generation rate of PM (particulates) in the tail gas by a maximum of 50% and the production rate of NOx (nitrogen oxides) by a maximum of 8%, effectively realizing the purification of tail gas. In addition, the system not only increases the injection pressure but also maintains the original size of the fuel pump by reducing the burden on the fuel pump. It is reported that the 250 MPa common rail system will be used in passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles, and agricultural construction machines in the world. At the same time, Denso is also advancing the R&D of a 300 MPa common rail system.
